Data released by the National Development and Reform Commission on April 18 shows that in the first quarter of 2022, China-Europe freight train totally made 3,630 trips with 350 thousand TEUs transported, respectively up 7 percent and 9 percent from a year earlier, with the ratio of loaded containers reaching 94 percent. Besides, more than 1,000 trips have been made monthly for 23 consecutive months. According to Guo Xinnian, deputy general manager of Zhengzhou International Hub Development and Construction Co., Ltd., during the January-March period, "Zhongyu" China-Europe freight trains totally made 423 trips, up 21 percent from a year earlier, of which 172 were made in March alone, 39 percent and 34 percent higher than those of January and February respectively and the highest in terms of the number of monthly trips made by China-Europe freight trains in the first quarter in China. The exports of "Zhongyu" China-Europe freight trains were mainly machinery and its spare parts, textile products, plastic and rubber products, miscellaneous products, etc., while the imports were mainly machinery and its spare parts, vehicles and its spare parts, mineral products, plastic and rubber products, etc.
