Yexian County can supply whole nation with salt for 33,000 years

Yexian County has abundant resources of halite, with a distribution area of 400 square kilometers and a reserve of 330 billion tons. Its degree ranks top in the country's rock salt industry, thus Yexian County is known as the "Capital of Halite in China".

According to the "Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents," it is recommended that residents consume no more than 5 grams of salt per day.

At present, the annual salt consumption of 1.4 billion people in China is about 3 million tons. Together with the amount of salt used in farming, food additives, etc., the approximate annual consumption is 10 million tons, which means that 330 billion tons of halite in Yexian County can make a 33,000-year supply for the whole nation.
