On August 6th, it was reported that five members of the Key Laboratory of Oracle Bone Inscriptions Information Processing of Anyang Normal University (hereinafter referred to as "the laboratory") went to Seoul, South Korea to conduct the digital collection of inscriptions on the oracle bones from a local university museum. This is the first time since its establishment that the laboratory has conducted digital collection of oracle bone inscriptions overseas, marking the official beginning of the "digital returning" of oracle bone relics scattered overseas.

8月6日，记者获悉，安阳师范学院甲骨文信息处理教育部重点实验室（以下简称“实验室”）5名成员奔赴韩国首尔，对当地一家高校博物馆收藏的甲骨片进行数字化采集。这是该实验室自成立以来首次到海外进行甲骨文数字化采集，标志着散落海外的甲骨文物正式开启数字化“回国”之路。

"The total number of inscriptions on oracle bones unearthed from Yinxu is about 160,000, including about 120,000 domestically and about 30,000 to 40,000 abroad, and only 70,000 to 80,000 have been published. Many are either hidden in warehouses, scattered across the nation, or remain missing abroad, making it difficult to research and utilize." Liu Yongge, the director of the laboratory, introduced that in May of this year, Anyang City released the "Digital Oracle Bone Co-Creation Project" and established the "Digital Oracle Bone Co-Creation Center", which uses the latest digital technology and innovative models to collect high-definition data from domestic and foreign oracle bone collections to assist in the holographic recording, text interpretation, activation and utilization, and popularization of oracle bone inscriptions, promote research on oracle bone studies, and enhance the dissemination and influence of Chinese civilization.

“殷墟出土的甲骨文总量约16万片，国内约12万片，国外约有3万片到4万片，真正发表过的只有七八万片，还有很多或深藏库房，或散落民间，或遗失国外，难以研究利用。”实验室主任刘永革介绍，今年5月，安阳市发布“数字甲骨共创计划”，同时成立“数字甲骨共创中心”，利用最新的数字技术和创新模式，对国内外甲骨藏品进行高清数据采集，助力甲骨文全息性整理著录、文字释读、活化利用、研学普及，推动甲骨学研究，增强中华文明传播力影响力。

Previously, the laboratory and Tencent SSV Digital Culture Laboratory had carried out preliminary technical research and development, selecting equipment and conducting technical research and development in 3D scanning and high-definition photography. They achieved technological breakthroughs such as a full information model with micro trace enhancement and ancient character search with font matching AI, solving fundamental problems such as the oracle bones being "not clear" and the characters being "unable to be found".

此前，实验室与腾讯SSV数字文化实验室已开展前期技术研发，在三维扫描、高清拍摄方面进行了设备选型和技术研发，实现了微痕增强的全信息模型、字形匹配AI的古文字搜索等技术突破，解决了甲骨实物“看不清”、文字“查不到”等基础性问题。

Liu Yongge and his team members conducted their first collection at Sookmyung Women's University Museum in South Korea. They carefully and meticulously photographed the 8 pieces of oracle bones (originally 7, with one broken into two) housed in the museum, completing their task successfully.

首次采集地点在韩国淑明女子大学博物馆，刘永革和团队成员对该馆收藏的8片（原7片，其中一片碎成了两块）甲骨认真细致拍摄，圆满完成采集任务。

"The 'Digital Oracle Bone Co-creation Project' is of extraordinary significance to the research and development of oracle bone inscriptions, because they are not only ancient characters with high historical value, but also excellent cultural heritages with an influence on cultural development of mankind." Professor Zheng Huilan, the head of oracle bone scripts preservation at the Sookmyung Women's University Museum in South Korea, as well as the curator and director of the embroidery gallery, stated that they were not familiar with the contents recorded on these oracle bones before, but with the visit of the team this time, they can have a better understanding of the meaning and value of oracle bone scripts.

“‘数字甲骨共创计划’项目对甲骨文的研究与发展有非凡意义。因为甲骨文是古老的文字，具有很高的历史价值，是对人类的文化发展具有影响力的优秀文化遗产。”韩国淑明女子大学博物馆甲骨文保存负责人、刺绣馆馆长、策展人郑慧兰教授表示，此前他们并不了解这些甲骨片上记录的内容，这次中方前来，他们可以更加了解甲骨文的意义和价值。

"South Korea is the first stop for our overseas digital collection of oracle bone scripts, and Sookmyung Women's University museum is the first overseas museum open to our laboratory, which is of great significance. We welcome the teachers and students from Sookmyung Women's University to visit Anyang and see more oracle bone scripts there. " Liu Yongge extended a sincere invitation to the relevant staff in charge of the museum.
