Henan's GDP Increases 5.0% Year-on-Year in First Three Quarters: Economic performance is showing improvement and innovation

今年前三季度我省GDP同比增长5.0%：经济运行向好向新

On October 20, the Henan Bureau of Statistics released the economic data for the first three quarters of 2024. During the period, the province's gross domestic product (GDP) reached 4,788.196 billion yuan, calculated at constant prices, marking a 5.0% increase year-on-year, which is a 0.1% acceleration from the first half of the year. Specifically, the value added in the primary industry was 436.720 billion yuan, with the secondary industry contributing 1,861.039 billion yuan, and the tertiary industry adding 2,490.437 billion yuan, reflecting year-on-year growth rates of 3.7%, 7.3%, and 3.4%, respectively.

10月20日，省统计局发布2024年前三季度全省经济运行数据。今年前三季度，全省实现地区生产总值（GDP）47881.96亿元，按不变价格计算，同比增长5.0%，比上半年加快0.1个百分点。分产业看，第一产业增加值4367.20亿元，同比增长3.7%；第二产业增加值18610.39亿元，同比增长7.3%；第三产业增加值24904.37亿元，同比增长3.4%。

Overall, Henan's economy has shown a stable and positive development trend, with notable achievements in the following areas:

总体来看，全省经济运行保持稳中向好、好中向新的发展态势，具体体现在以下几个方面：

Agricultural production remains stable overall. The province is prioritizing agricultural production to ensure a stable and secure supply of food and essential agricultural products. In the first three quarters, the output of vegetables and edible fungi reached 59.7023 million tons, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 2.6%. Meanwhile, melon and fruit production totaled 14.9441 million tons, up 2.7% year-on-year. Meat production of pork, beef, mutton, and poultry amounted to 4.9220 million tons, representing an increase of 8.7% year-on-year. The number of pigs marketed reached 42.9753 million heads, marking a 0.8% rise year-on-year. Efforts to strengthen food security have been successful, with significant work undertaken during the autumn harvest to ensure that all autumn grains are safetly stored, promising another bountiful year for grain production.

农业生产总体平稳。全省全力以赴抓好农业生产，努力保障粮食和重要农产品稳定安全供给。前三季度，全省蔬菜及食用菌产量5970.23万吨、同比增长2.6%，瓜果类产量1494.41万吨、同比增长2.7%。全省猪牛羊禽肉产量492.20万吨、同比增长8.7%，生猪出栏4297.53万头、同比增长0.8%。粮食安全根基进一步夯实，扎实做好秋收工作，确保秋粮颗粒归仓，全年粮食有望再获丰收。

The industrial economy runs steadily. The province makes concerted efforts to advance policies, boost demand, and foster new high-quality industries, developing and reinforcing the "7+28+N" industrial cluster chains which consist of 7 major advanced manufacturing sectors, 28 key industrial chains, and numerous specialized and innovative chains in various niche markets. In the first three quarters, there was a 7.7% year-on-year increase in the industrial added value above designated size. Notably, the automobile and parts industry and the electronic information industry saw significant growth, with added value rising by 29.9% and 17.8%, respectively, collectively driving the added value of large-scale industries in the province to increase by 2.8%.

工业经济稳健运行。全省上下全力以赴推政策、扩需求，育新质、转动能，培育壮大“7+28+N”产业链群，坚持把保持工业经济快速增长态势作为经济发展压舱石。前三季度，全省规上工业增加值同比增长7.7%。其中，汽车及零部件产业、电子信息产业增加值同比分别增长29.9%、17.8%，合计拉动全省规上工业增加值增长2.8个百分点。

Fixed asset investment growth remains stable. In the first three quarters, fixed asset investment in the province increased by 6.7% year-on-year. The completion investment in projects valued at over 100 million yuan grew by 8.9% year-on-year, contributing to a 5.2 percentage point increase in overall investment growth, with a contribution rate of 83.2%. Industrial investment continued its double-digit growth trend this year. In the first three quarters, industrial investment in the province rose by 21.8% year-on-year, accelerating by 3.4 percentage points compared to the first half of the year.

固定资产投资增势平稳。前三季度，全省固定资产投资同比增长6.7%。全省亿元及以上项目完成投资同比增长8.9%，拉动全省投资增长5.2个百分点，对全省投资增长贡献率达83.2%。工业投资延续今年以来持续两位数增长态势。前三季度，全省工业投资同比增长21.8%，比上半年加快3.4个百分点。

The consumer market has experienced stable growth. In the first three quarters, the total retail sales of consumer goods in the province reached 1,981.938 billion yuan, an increase of 5.7% year-on-year. Online consumption is booming, with online retail sales reaching 339.48 billion yuan in the first three quarters, a year-on-year growth of 15.9%.

消费市场稳定增长。前三季度，全省社会消费品零售总额19819.38亿元，同比增长5.7%。线上消费蓬勃发展，前三季度，全省网上零售额3394.8亿元，同比增长15.9%。

The new quality productive forces are steadily developing. In the first three quarters, the value added by high-tech manufacturing and strategic emerging industries in the province increased by 13.7% and 9.0% year-on-year, respectively. The new energy automotive and the new generation information technology industry reported impressive growth of 25.4% and 17.1% year-on-year in value added. Additionally, the production of charging piles, lithium batteries, and new energy vehicles surged by 83.4%, 51.4%, and 28.9% year-on-year, respectively.

新质生产力稳步发展。前三季度，全省高技术制造业、工业战略性新兴产业增加值同比分别增长13.7%n、9.0%；新能源汽车产业、新一代信息技术产业增加值同比分别增长25.4%、17.1%。充电桩、锂电子电池、新能源汽车产量同比分别增长83.4%、51.4%、28.9%。

The economic structure has been optimized and upgraded. The province is driven by reform and innovation to accelerate the optimization and upgrading of its economic structure. In the first three quarters, the value added of strategic emerging industries and high-tech manufacturing accounted for 24.0% and 13.0% of the industrial added value above designated size, respectively, increasing by 1.6 percentage points and 1.0 percentage point compared to the first half of the year.

经济结构优化升级。全省以改革创新为动力，加快推动经济结构优化升级。前三季度，战略性新兴产业、高技术制造业增加值占规上工业增加值比重分别为24.0%、13.0%，比上半年分别提高1.6个、1.0个百分点。

In the first three quarters of this year, Henan has proactively identified key areas for implementing policies aimed at upgrading large-scale equipment and facilitating the trade-in of old consumer goods. Additionally, the province has focused on implementing national major strategies and improving safety measures in key areas. By promoting the stable and healthy development of the real estate market and ensuring that policy opportunities are effectively leveraged in projects and enterprises, the province has gained a stronger grasp on economic development initiatives. During the same period, retail sales of communication equipment, new energy vehicles, smart home appliances, and audio-visual equipment of large-scale enterprise increased by 33.7%, 26.9%, and 15.0% year-on-year, respectively, with growth rates accelerating by 4.7%, 3.9%, and 2.9% compared to the first half of the year.

今年前三季度，我省找准“两新”“两重”等政策落地转化的着力点、突破口，落实落细进一步促进房地产市场平稳健康发展措施，把政策机遇落到项目上、落到企业上，牢牢把握经济发展主动权。其中，消费品以旧换新带动相关需求加快释放，前三季度，全省限额以上单位通信器材、新能源汽车、智能家用电器和音像器材等商品零售额同比分别增长33.7%、26.9%、15.0%，比上半年分别加快4.7个、3.9个、2.9个百分点。
