International students from North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power (NCWU) clinched the first prize in the international student category of the 6th Chinese Classics Recitation Competition – "Reciting China" Classics Recitation Competition (Henan Division) with their recitation Ode to the Yellow River.

The Ode to the Yellow River featured a curated selection of iconic poems themed around the Yellow River, written by renowned poets across Chinese history. The work celebrates the majestic spirit of the Yellow River, revered as the mother river of the Chinese people, while reflecting the admiration and aspirations for water culture through the lens of international students.

NCWU's entries stood out for their deep patriotism, their focus on the university's unique water culture education, and their vivid showcase of the richness of Chinese language and culture.

华北水利水电大学留学生诵读作品《颂黄河》获第六届中华经典诵写讲大赛——“诵读中国”经典诵读大赛（河南赛区）留学生组一等奖，《颂黄河》由我国历代著名诗人以“黄河”为题创作的著名诗篇精选而成，作品彰显了中华人民母亲河的磅礴气势，并以外国留学生为视角，体现对水域文化的崇尚和向往。华北水利水电大学选送的诵读作品选题厚植家国情怀，突出学校水文化育人特色，彰显中华语言文化魅力。
