Wuyang Farmer Paintings partner with McDonald's

On November 26th, the head of McDonald's China attended the China International Supply Chain Expo, presenting the "McFarm Calendar", a cultural product themed around green agriculture. It features 12 paintings created by Wuyang farmer artists from Luohe city in Henan province and tells stories of traditional delicacies, the nurturing land, and the cycle of growth through the lens of Wuyang's intangible cultural heritage, offering viewers an immersive experience of rural life.

11月26日,麦当劳中国负责人带着印有12幅舞阳农民画的年历——绿色农业文创“麦麦农场年历”参加中国国际供应链促进博览会。这套年历以非遗舞阳农民画的形式,巧妙地将关于美味、土地和成长的故事以一种直观且富有感染力的方式呈现在观众眼前。



The 12 vibrant and colorful paintings in the calendar not only highlight McDonald's commitment to sustainable farming practices, but also bring the Wuyang folk art into the spotlight. From planting potatoes and raising chicks to growing lettuce, each painting tells a story that offers consumers a fresh perspective on the down-to-earth life of farmers growing superior grains and vegetables across China.

12幅内容生动、色彩丰富的舞阳农民画全部由漯河市舞阳农民画院的农民画家创作,描绘麦当劳的农场日常,传递品牌绿色农业故事的同时,也让舞阳农民画再次走入大众视野。种土豆、养小鸡、种生菜……12个鲜活的农民故事,用舞阳农民画的形式,为消费者打开了一个新的窗口,让消费者看到大江南北勤劳质朴的新农人全心全意培育好食材的动人场景。



Meanwhile, McDonald's has transformed 20 of its restaurants in 15 Chinese cities into "McFarm-themed" outlets, which are adorned with the lively Wuyang farmer paintings throughout - from the tables and walls to the staircases. In addition, a collection of fresh and artistic Wuyang-themed postcards and tote bags has been released. These captivating artworks are drawing more people to appreciate the bright and romantic spirit of Wuyang's folk art.

同时,麦当劳在全国15个城市的20家餐厅变身“麦麦农场主题餐厅”,从餐桌、墙面到阶梯,处处充满舞阳农民画元素。舞阳农民画主题明信片和手提袋同步上线,不失小清新,又充满文艺范。明快的画面、浪漫的笔触,让更多人感受到舞阳农民画的魅力。


Wuyang farmer paintings have been gaining widespread recognition this year. Recently, their multilingual editions have been included in the 2024 "China Publishing Goes Global" Annual Recommendations, which is a testament to their cultural significance. Additionally, these editions were honored as a model case of the 5th "Belt and Road" Publishing Cooperation Initiative in October, symbolizing a cultural bridge connecting China with the rest of the world.
