甲骨文“春”字，左边的上下是草 木，中间是日，表示温暖的阳光滋润 草木生长；右边的实际上是“屯”的甲 骨 文 ，表 示 春 天 到 了 ，种 子 破 土 发 芽。金文和小篆构字部件位置发生 了变化。“春”本义是草木的种子生根 发芽，后引申至以“春”作为一年四季 的第一季名。

The oracle bone script form of the Chinese character "教" (jiào) consists of the components "攴"," 爻 ", and "子". In the script, "攴" resembles a person holding a teaching stick, symbolizing instruction. The "爻" functions as a phonetic component. Some interpretations suggest that it may also represent the content of learning, resembling the shape of counting rods. The "子" component represents the learner or the recipient of education. The original meaning of "教" is"to educate" or "education". Occasionally, the "子 " component is omitted. In oracle bone inscriptions, "教" is also used as a personal name or place name.
