Through World's Eyes | Secretary-General of Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS): Cultural foundation of East Asian countries lies in Chinese characters
"The cultural foundation of East Asian countries lies in Chinese characters. China, Japan, and South Korea share highly similar cultures, and regional economic and trade cooperation is closely tied by this common cultural bond," said Lee Hee-sup, Secretary-General of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS), in an exclusive interview with Henan International Communication Center on the afternoon of April 20, during the 2025 Trilateral Common Vocabulary Forum held in Anyang, Henan.
He added that oracle bone script, as the origin of Chinese characters, continues to shine with vitality in the new era—an idea that strongly aligns with the vision of TCS.
